One of Russia’s most notorious and militant Jihadist separatist groups is the Imarat Kavkaz (IK) also known as the Caucasus Emirate.
The North Caucasus insurgency confirmed that Aliaskhab Kebekov was killed during a counterterrorist operation in Dagestan in April 2015. Kebekov was Amir Ali Abu-Muhammad, the leader of the Caucasus Emirate.
In June 2015 a YouTube message claimed that the Jihadi militants in Daghestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia, and Kabardino-Balkaria regions had sworn fealty to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The Islamic State Caliphate has stretched its tentacles squarely into Putin’s Russia—the Jihad cannot be far behind.
