Global iGuerilla Update

Road Warrior

Friday, August 7, 2015

Qassem Soleimani, Commander of Iran’s elite Quds Force special ops and terror unit, visited Russia in July. Apparently the travel ban imposed on him in 2007 by the UN Security Council did little to discourage his sojourn. It also didn’t trouble Russia, a member of the Security Council.

Vladimir Putin took time out of his excellent adventure in Ukraine to meet personally with Soleimani; they had business to conduct. Namely the delivery of S-300 surface-to-air missiles and other goodies. The missiles would ostensibly be used to shoot down enemy aircraft (American and Israeli most likely) that might threaten Iran’s ‘sensitive sites’. The other weapons would probably go to Quds Force and Hizballah terrorists scattered throughout the region.

It seems likely that a good portion of this weapons windfall might be paid for with money freed up when sanctions are lifted. Not such a good deal…
