Global iGuerilla Update

Remember Me!

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

The headlines have been dominated by Russians in Syria, Chinese is the Spratlys and Muslim immigrants overrunning Europe and the Islamic State seems to be feeling neglected. In an effort not to regain the headlines IS has developed a few more novel ways to slaughter the unfortunate people who fall into their hands.

In Syria’s ancient city of Palmyra, they tied three captives to Roman-era columns and then blew them up. A Palmyra activist said that the public slaughter took place on Monday afternoon noting that their identities remain unknown. Earlier in the week IS posted gruesome images of an IS driven tank slowly driving over a captured Syrian soldier.

This adds to their destruction of the Palmyra Temple of Bel and the Arch of Triumph. IS took Palmyra in May and has been busy destroying ancient relics they deem to be idolatrous since any history of faith, culture or traditions that are not Islamic are without merit and should be erased. What antiquities they don’t destroy, they loot and sell on the black
market.
